226 - Jupiter and the Hope

Back
Next

Jupiter put all the goods inside a cask, leaving it in the hands of a man.

This man, who was a curious, raised the lid of the cask because he wanted to know what was inside, and on having done it, all the goods flew towards the gods, except Hope.

Hence the Hope is the satisfaction of the human beings, which promises them the return of the missing goods, sometime in the future.
