072 - The Wolf and the Plow

Back
Next

A farmer took his team of oxen to the water well.

A hungry fox was walking round there in search of meal.

The wolf found the plow and started licking the rims of the yoke, and at once and without realizing it ended up putting his head inside. Being waved as better it could to come undone, it was dragging the plow along the rut.

After the farmer returned, he saw him in this activity and said to him:

"Ah, thieving wolf, what a happiness if it was true that you resigned to your profession, and you have joined us to work honestly the ground!"

Sometimes, by one or other reason, the evil ones seemed to act well, but their nature always denounces them.
